NING – “Statement of Account”

We promised that we would be transparent in our accounts, but we have been too busy to have presented them so far. Apologies for the delay. But here are the accounts from the beginning of this NING. If by chance you detect any error, please send an email to instituto-ost@instituto-ost.pt. And if some of you can make a small donation to cover the small loss we have, we will be grateful. You may be sure that it will be included in the next statement of…

WOSonOS, Chile, October 2011

We have promised that from time to time we would reproduce in this NING some posts to the OSLIST, as there are some people in this Ning that are not (yet) in the OSLIST. We have not been able to do that often, and especialle we have not been able to translate them and reproduce them transalted in the Groups where are some people that don't understand English.

So for this time I am reproducing here a current conversation in the OSLIST. I will also make a call for…

Small Things I Learnt

What small things I have

learnt in my small life:

1. If you know you are right

and true, and you see the

whole world going against

you, stand on your way.

One day, they will realize

and follow you.

2. If you love someone by

true heart, never decieve her.

Because, if you lost her, you

will always decieve yourself

in your life.

3. Don't stuck to your

attitude when to apologize

someone on your own

mistake that you… Continue

Pedagogical video of an Open Space

This short video aims to enable anyone to understand what are the main steps of an Open Space and how does it work.

This video is made from an open space that I facilitated for a client a couple of month ago.

Hope you will enjoy it,

Jean-Philippe

What I’ve Learned from the New Parish Priest

Meeting the New Parish Priest

I am lucky to have worked with communities that embed a spirit of service - they are spiritual and religious communities. I appreciate the fact that their existence and organisation are based on service. Some have become bureaucratic and relying on top-down decisions, excess controlling structures... not too different from many other organisations.

Last week I've got hold of an informal publication made by a catholic priest from Australia,… Continue

NEXT WOSonOS 2012 gathering to be held in BRISTOL

Dear open space friends,

As you may know "WOSonOS 2012" will be taking place in the UK.  As part of our creation of the core team and connecting to interested spirited parties we are having a series of open space events before we knuckle down to the hardcore planning of our event. These are to harvest ideas, start creating UK "community spirit glue" and to find out who's out there using and interested in open space we don't even know about. So here's another chance to come…

Ralph Copleman passed away

I am sad to inform those of you that are not in the OSLIST that our friend Ralph Copleman passed away on January 6, at the age of 65.

Among many other comments, poems and insights, mainly in the OSLIST, I want to recall here this message he wrote in his OST NING page:

Wosonos 2012 first open space report

Dear OS Ningers,

As Jon Harvey has already reported on the os list, two weekends ago the first open space was held for our Wosonos 2012 event. The Improbable office booked the space for us and I opened the space. It was a great turn out considering we had limited time to drum up support and interest. Thank you for helping make that happen. There was a lot of enthusiasm and lots of sessions called and of course the beginnings of the rumblings…
