How did you first learn about OST?: Read Owen's book. Knew Future Search method in which I'm trained

What surprised you the most about this method?: It was as I expected when I ran a workshop: energizing and nobody was bored!

How does Open Space fit into what you do with organizations and / or communities?: It is still a very unusual approach in this part of Switzerland, but I'm trying to introduce it.

more about you: I'm a trainer, speaking partner and consultant to organizations mainly in the Swiss French part. I work in English, French, German, Swedish and Finnish

Join Open Space Technology World Community

This is like the small group discussions area - there is also the OSLIST which is like the large circle conversation, if you like. I know on the OSLIST there are several practitioners of Open Space in Switzerland - I see one other Member of this Ning group from Switzerland. Feel free to do a Member search here to see who you may know on this Ning community. There are also workshops in Europe and Scandinavia where you can join with others of different experience levels in a face-to-face learning opportunity. You will see those listed in 'events' here - workshops in French, English, and Swedish are offered each year.

Additionally - the World Open Space on Open Space will be happening this October 11-14 in London - and there will be a workshop October 8-10 in London that you may also wish to attend. It will give you a deeper and deeper understanding of this very different process and role and method - which to me feels like a sister to Future Search although a really different approach.
